Something Blue Bridal Shower

This past weekend I was happy to help play hostess for my sister's bridal shower. We decided to have a "Something Blue" themed party and tried to bring the color into the day as much as possible. The hostesses and bride-to-be wore blue and we made foods that had the shade as well.

I was so excited to be able to design the invitations, food cards and other printables. I stuck with several blue hues and chevron patterns. I had a lot of fun with this theme!

The Something Blue invitation is available in my Etsy shop.
As mentioned, when choosing the menu we tried to think of foods that would incorporate the color, so we went with blueberry chicken salad sandwiches and blue corn chips with cream cheese salsa. We had a Mexican chocolate bunt cake and a fruit tray as well. It was all so delicious.

As you can see from the photos, we came up with cute names for each menu item, i.e. Something Blueberry Chicken Salad and Blue la la Cake.

One of the other hostesses also thought of the idea of a blessing book, so I came up with a 5x7 card to frame with the instructions. I found this gorgeous frame at Hobby Lobby for half off. It really came together nicely.

All in all, it was a gorgeous shower for a gorgeous bride-to-be! I'm so happy for my sister and that I was able to design all of these pretty prints for her shower :) It's the perfect theme for a girl who isn't quite so crazy about traditionally girly things.

Hugs,
Melinda
